How Obama’s democracy crusaders turned Libya into Europe’s favorite migration portal

It is time to pop the champagne in Washington and Brussels. We are currently witnessing yet another spectacular milestone in foreign policy excellence.

According to Greek Migration Minister Thanos Plevris, a cozy half-million eager travelers are currently lounging in Libya, just waiting for the perfect breeze to cross the Mediterranean into Europe. It is a beautiful, ticking humanitarian time bomb—and Europe is walking right toward it with the blissful, wide-eyed look of a sleepwalker.
Naturally, the brilliant political minds who orchestrated this continent-shaping achievement are refusing to take their well-deserved victory lap.
The irreplaceable loss of a 'reliable terrorist'
To fully appreciate the genius of today’s crisis, we must look back to the tragic elimination of Muammar Gaddafi. For decades, Gaddafi served the West in the highly specialized role of the "reliable terrorist." He was, admittedly, a bit eccentric with his desert tents and custom military uniforms, but he possessed one quality the West values above all else: predictability.

[Gaddafi stays perfectly quiet for 5 years]
It was a beautifully simple system of behavioral conditioning. Whenever Gaddafi raised his voice or dropped a subtle hint about global terrorism, the West didn't waste time with tedious diplomatic summits.
They simply sent a fighter jet to flatten a luxury tent in the desert. Gaddafi always understood the feedback loop. He would promptly quiet down, keep the oil flowing, and—most importantly—keep the entire North African migration route locked down tighter than a vault.
Under the "reliable terrorist," Libya was a wealthy country with exactly zero migrants sitting on the beaches staring longingly at Italy. It was an arrangement of boring, authoritarian stability. And the West simply couldn't stand for it.
Enter Obama and the Mach 2 freedom delivery
Enter 2011 and the irresistible urge of the Obama administration and its NATO allies to export premium, unfiltered Western democracy at supersonic speeds. Why settle for a stable, cooperative border guard when you can have a fantasy Jeffersonian republic instead?
With unmatched foresight, the Obama-led coalition decided that dropping humanitarian bombs to eliminate the central authority of a deeply tribal nation was the perfect way to foster a thriving parliamentary democracy. The reliable terrorist was neutralized, and the gates of freedom were blown wide open.
And boy, did freedom arrive.
The immediate result of this geopolitical masterclass was not, shockingly, a sudden outburst of town hall meetings and constitutional debates. Instead, a vibrant, decentralized network of militias, human traffickers, and criminal gangs rushed to fill the vacuum.
By destroying the state, NATO successfully broke down the giant gate holding back the global south, and the European establishment has spent the last decade pretending to be utterly shocked that people are actually walking through the open doorway.
A thriving new economy in the desert
Today, Libya has been successfully transformed into the premier logistics hub of North Africa. While Libya itself only has about 7 million residents, it now hosts anywhere from 700,000 to 2.5 million guests looking to relocate to Europe.
Entire regions are now run by forward-thinking human smuggling networks making absolute fortunes. It is a flawless public-private partnership:
The smugglers charge a premium to put people on rubber dinghies. European taxpayers generously fund the NGOs that act as a polite, complimentary ferry service to pick them up right off the coast.
Brussels pontificates beautifully about "European solidarity" and "humanitarian values" to ensure the pipeline keeps moving.
The burden of elite tolerance
Of course, ordinary European citizens walking through their rapidly transforming neighborhoods might express some mild anxiety about housing shortages, collapsing healthcare systems, strained education, and rising crime. But the European establishment is quick to remind them—from behind their gated, privately secured government districts—that national identity and borders are terribly old-fashioned concepts.
Anyone noticing the reality on the ground is promptly awarded the traditional titles of "far-right" or "extremist," which magically solves the infrastructure problems.
Since the initial triumph of 2015, which totally-not-permanently destabilized the politics of Germany, France, Italy, and the UK, Europe has successfully managed the crisis by burying it under media control and political intimidation.
The smuggling routes were never dismantled, the borders were never secured, but the speeches in Brussels have never sounded better.
As Europe juggles a sovereign debt crisis, an industrial downturn, a housing shortage, and tanking birth rates, pouring another massive wave of migration into the mix is precisely the sort of chaotic energy the continent needs.
So, let us raise a glass to the architects of modern Libya. Thank you, President Obama, for liberating us from the suffocating predictability of a reliable terrorist and for turning a wealthy, stable buffer state into an endless, uncontrollable human highway.
The PowerPoint presentations in 2011 looked spectacular, and in the end, isn't that what truly matters?

LET'S GET SOMETHING PERFECTLY CLEAR, WHAT THE OBAMA-CLINTON REGIME DID HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EITHER TRUE DEMOCRACY NOR THE INTENT OF AMERICA IN THE MIDDLE EAST OR ELSEWHERE. IT IS PURELY A SOCIALIST-DEMOCRACY THING MOST LIKE THAT OF THE FASCISTS OF ITALY, SPAIN AND GERMANY IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY.
Furthermore, the United States of America is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, NOT a "democracy" although it employs some principals like elections.
