Ready for war: Will German “Generation Z” succumb to this madness?

Is German society so stupid that it will succumb to this madness? Or is it so apathetic, so apathetic, so powerless, so tame that it is watching politicians pave the way to disaster? When will the breaking point be reached that will finally make German society wake up?

German society is burdened with an enormous historical debt. The past is over, of course. And today's generations are not responsible for the madness of their ancestors. Even if they wanted to, they could not undo or make amends for the past.

What they can do, however, is to respond loudly and clearly to a policy that has obviously taken leave of its senses: We Germans never want more war. Never again!

The problem is that the tipping point has already been passed. Politics has already tipped towards militarism. The logic of the military is already flowing at high pressure into the cellular organs of state and social multipliers.

The Bundeswehr visiting schools? Not a taboo. The reintroduction of compulsory military service? Resistance is limited. German tanks on Russian soil? Long since a reality.

A radio report on SWR 2 is entitled: “How society should become war-ready”. And then the word war economy is also mentioned: “According to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, even the European Union, which used to always want to be an organization of peace, could soon switch to a war economy: with its own EU Commissioner for Defence, joint procurement of weapons and ammunition, monitoring of arms production - and all of this, of course, equipped with ample budgets.”

The “security expert” Wolfgang Ischinger, who has his say in the radio report, even says that Germany would have to increase its military spending from two to four percent of its gross budget if Russia were to defeat Ukraine. And as if all that wasn't enough, there is also an “Operational Plan Germany”, which makes it clear how far Germany's “security policy realignment” should go.

A picture on the German Armed Forces' website for Operation Plan Germany shows four jackets hanging next to each other on coat hooks. The jacket at the back is a Technical Relief Organization jacket, the next one is from the Red Cross. Then there is a jacket from the police and the fire department. And at the very front is a Bundeswehr jacket.

The symbolism conveyed is evident. Government agencies in close association with the Bundeswehr - which is right at the front. Above the picture it reads:

“Germany and its population must become more defensible and resilient in order to be armed against threats and aggressors. These challenges cannot be met by the military alone, they must be mastered by the state and society as a whole. '

Germany. Together. Defend' is the goal and the benchmark. Germany and the Bundeswehr must be prepared to respond to current threats and territorial defense in peace, crisis and war.

With this goal in mind, experts from all areas of the Bundeswehr are developing the military component of a national defence plan, the 'Operations Plan Germany' (OPLAN DEU), in a joint planning group comprising the federal government, the federal states and local authorities, the so-called blue light organizations and the private sector.

OPLAN DEU is a secret document that is continuously being worked on and updated under the responsibility of the Territorial Command of the Bundeswehr.”

One of the central passages reveals a lot: “They must be mastered by the state and society as a whole.” Something is going on here! And it's huge.

Just as the fusion of military and state-civilian areas is visible in the symbolic image mentioned above, the text reveals how militarization will proceed nationwide. The whole of society is to be involved. Is it perhaps dawning on those who ignore the word “belligerence”? (...)

The statements could hardly be clearer. Statements of this kind would never be made in public if the basic political attitude from the very top were not behind them. In other words: the accumulation of all these reports on war readiness, on the development of homeland security, on “war-related” training should ring all the alarm bells.

This is not about statements made by some “war freaks” in off-the-wall internet forums. The statements are “mainstream”. They are being “communicated” to the population by the major media, by high-ranking players, or to be more precise: downright promoted. The “war readiness” project is serious. Very serious.

As already mentioned in the introduction: In November, it leaked out that companies in Germany are already being prepared for “war readiness” as part of Operation Plan Germany. “According to information from the F.A.Z., the Bundeswehr has recently been training companies for the event of defense. A secret strategy paper also clearly outlines the role of the economy should Putin attack in the east.”
